The mural Il Bacio, a work by street artist Andrea Ravo Mattoni (Varese, 1981) created on the facade of the elementary school in the Lombard municipality, was unveiled today in Comabbio (Varese province). The work was commissioned to the artist by the municipal administration, which has launched an urban art project with the intention of creating a “diffuse museum” in the area.

Ravo Mattoni is known for his works that reproduce masterpieces of ancient art on a large scale and on the facades of buildings: in this case, too, he has not shied away from the vein that has made him famous. The mural, measuring seven and a half by six meters, was completed the day before yesterday and took six days to complete. Consequently, it is a matter of creating a set of places capable of making tourists curious, creating a pathway that will entice them to discover an area made up of small realities that have so much to offer. The narrative is therefore entrusted to a structured system that, in a linear and comprehensive way, tells the distinctive characteristics of the area, and in this narrative context the museum succeeds in attracting tourists in the perspective of “slow” “slow” tourism in little-known areas of the territory, in an area that will allow visitors to have an active experience through the very routes used to reach the places, and through small details to look for along the itineraries while also discovering the peculiarities of the places and local history.

“Spreading the culture of painting through the technique of copying in art that is a very ancient tradition,” the artist explains, “I re-propose it using an extremely modern method, the use of spray cans, this certainly intrigues the viewer and brings him closer to works that might be considered distant.”
