Have you met Peggy Guggenheim or has she inspired you? Write to Peggy

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection invites anyone who knew Peggy or simply inspired her to write a letter to the celebrated collector.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection invites writing to ... Peggy.

With the initiative Write to Peggy, which is part of the program The Continuity of a Vision, the museum is calling on all those who knew the celebrated collector or were inspired by her to tell their testimonies. The invitation is addressed to those who remember Peggy Guggenheim in a gondola on Venetian canals or strolling through the city, but also to those who would have liked to have known her but belong to a different generation.

Letters or e-mails should be addressed to Collezione Peggy Guggenheim, Dorsoduro 701, 30123 Venice or to scriviapeggy@guggenheim-venice.it: some of the most significant letters that reach the famous Venetian museum will be published on the latter’s website and excerpts will be shared on social media with the hashtag #ScriviaPeggy.

The program The Continuity of a Vision, which runs throughout 2019, aims to remember the collector with exhibitions and activities to actualize her courageous and disruptive teaching and to be inspired by a visionary and tenacious woman. In fact, this year marks the anniversary of Peggy Guggenheim’s move to Palazzo Venier dei Leoni in 1949 and the anniversary of her passing on December 23, 1979.
