At the age of 91, one of the most important intellectuals of the Italian twentieth century, Guido Ceronetti, passed away at his home in Cetona.

Guido Ceronetti has died at the age of 91 at his home in Cetona, Siena.
Born in Andezeno (Turin) in 1927, he was a poet, writer, actor, puppeteer, translator and journalist.

His books include"Viaggio in Italia" (1983),"Difesa della luna e altri argomenti di miseria terrestre" (1971),“Pensieri del tè”(1987), many collections of articles, aphorisms, reflections.



An anthology of his work"The Fragility of Thinking" was published in 2000. He translated five Books of the Bible, loved classics and theater: among his most beloved authors Sophocles, Dante, Shakespeare, Céline, Kavafis.

In 1970 he and his wife set up the Teatro dei Sensibili, creating puppet shows, which were attended by Montale, Natalia Ginzburg, Federico Fellini and many others.
