Genus Bononiae launches a fundraising campaign to support Sant'Orsola Polyclinic, on the front lines of the Coronavirus emergency.

Genus Bononiae. Museums in the City launches with the hashtag #laculturachefabene a fundraising campaign in favor of theInfectious Diseases Operative Unit of the Sant’Orsola Hospital of Bologna: a portion of the proceeds from online sales from now until the opening of the exhibition The Rediscovery of a Masterpiece, where the Griffoni Polyptych will finally be reassembled, will be donated to the polyclinic, on the front line of theCoronavirus emergency.

The exhibition was supposed to open to the public just today. Anyone who buys open tickets for the exhibition online from authorized retailers will be making a gesture of solidarity. “We are asking everyone who was looking forward to this exhibition with anxiety and interest for an act of trust and hope, through the purchase of the ticket, which also becomes a gesture of solidarity,” says Fabio Roversi-Monaco, president of Genus Bononiae and the Festival of Medical Science, which brings Nobel laureates, researchers and world-renowned scientists to Bologna every year to bring the general public closer to medical-scientific culture, in collaboration with the University of Bologna.

The open ticket costs 18 euros, 5 euros of which will go to support the medical emergency. Proceeds will be donated to a specially dedicated bank account. Here is the link to purchase the open ticket.

“Today we should have opened an exhibition that we have been working on for two years, with commitment and sincere passion in the knowledge that we are part of a unique cultural and artistic adventure,” Roversi-Monaco added. “The stop to museum openings throughout the country came when the set-up was already almost complete. A measure as dutiful as it is painful for us and for the entire world of culture. It is difficult to hide our state of mind: we were anxious to share the beauty with which we had the privilege of filling our eyes during these days of set-up. However, we are also proud today to be able to do our part at such a delicate time, and we decided to translate the gratitude we feel for our health care facilities into a concrete gesture. We are asking all those who have been waiting for this exhibition with anxiety and interest for an act of trust and hope, through the purchase of a ticket, which also becomes a gesture of solidarity.”
