In a videoconference, MiBACT Minister Dario Franceschini met this morning with representatives of the performing arts world to preview the important measures that will be included in the next decree and to open a dialogue on the decisions to be made in view of the reopenings.
Present at the videoconference were Stefano Accorsi, Alessio Boni, Roberto Bolle, Emma Dante, Anna Foglietta, Carlo Fontana, Paolo Fresu, Monica Guerritore, Vinicio Marchioni, Stefano Massini, Roy Paci, Nicola Piovani, Vittoria Puccini and Luca Salsi. On this occasion, Minister Franceschini informed them of the decrees already signed, which provide twenty million euros for sectors not financed by Fus (minor theaters, circus, music, dance); thirteen million euros stemming from private copying in favor of authors, artists, performers with incomes of less than 20 thousand euros gross per year; and five million euros for traveling entertainment.
Specific measures for the performing arts will be included in the April decree, in particular the extraordinary rules for the disbursement of the FUS, which will anticipate the disbursement of funding and allow the possibility of also using the funds to supplement income support tools for employees, and the package of measures to strengthen workers’ benefits and protections and avert the possibility that some professional figures may be left out.
“It was an important opportunity for discussion. Never as at this time is it fundamental and useful to listen to the voice of those in the individual sectors who know the real problems and suggest correct and viable solutions to gradually return to normality, while respecting the safety of workers and the public,” the minister commented.
