The Teatro Rinuccini in Florence, the largest remaining private theater in the city, has been restored and celebrated with a reopening ceremony.
Now named after Ottavio Rinuccini, a famous Florentine opera librettist who is considered the initiator of melodrama, the palace belonged until the mid-19th century to the Rinuccini family, where they resided; after the death of the last heir, the building was sold and later passed to the City Council. Today the palace houses the Liceo Macchiavelli.
The restoration, among other interventions, involved the frescoed dressing room, the curtain and ancient armchairs and an ancient floor.
