On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, on the night of thedefacement of the Vasari Corridor, another incident occurred in Florence: two young people, a boy and a girl, and possibly a third person, climbed amid laughter the copy of the David that dominates Piazzale Michelangelo.

The statue was not damaged. At the disposal of the municipal police and carabinieri, to try to identify these people, are images from video surveillance cameras on the square, but also a self-made video that ended up on the net within hours. A boy can be seen giving himself a push by prying up the ledges at the base of the copy of the David, and a girl is clinging to the statue’s leg. A third person’s arm appears to pop out behind it. The video was posted yesterday on the Welcome to Florence Instagram page.
