From January 27-31, 2021, ten galleries in five Italian cities, simultaneously with twelve other countries, will open their doors at BRAFA in the Galleries. This is the first international widespread fair in private spaces.
BRAFA in the e Gall eries involves 126 galleries in 37 cities around the world.
“These past few months have been a powerful reminder of how important relationships are,” comments Harold t’Kint de Roodenbeke, BRAFA President. “Our profession is deeply human because it is based first and foremost on emotion. We hope that this initiative can reestablish this deep and personal connection, always under safe conditions. We could not resign ourselves to suspending our event altogether after sixty-five years.”
Five cities in Italy are involved: Milan, Rome, Venice, Arezzo and Racconigi.
In Milan at Robertaebasta it will be possible to admire Italian twentieth-century design, masterpieces of African and Oriental art at Dalton Somaré, sculptures and cabinet-making works at Brun Fine Arts, contemporary art in the rooms of Cortesi Gallery and Repetto Gallery. In Rome, 19th-century paintings in particular will be on display thanks to the participation of Paolo Antonacci and W. Apolloni. Nardi Jewelers of Venice will display its iconic creations that tell the spirit of the city through gold and precious stones. In Arezzo, the contemporary wunderkammer of Theatrum Mundi will be accessible. Finally, in Piedmont, the Chiale Fine Art gallery in Racconigi will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a selection of furniture, paintings and sculptures from the 14th to 20th centuries.
All galleries involved will be open to the public from Thursday, January 28 to Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; preview Wednesday, January 27 from 2 to 9 p.m.
The project is fully funded by Delen Private Bank.
