First step toward a new MiBAC reform: committee created to reorganize the ministry

Minister Alberto Bonisoli has formed the commission to reorganize the ministry: the first step toward a new reform of MiBAC.

With Ministerial Decree Number 33 of January 31, 2019, Minister Alberto Bonisoli officially took the first step toward a new reform of MiBAC by establishing the study commission for the reorganization of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. The commission, the decree states, “is assigned tasks of research, study and analysis aimed at formulating proposals for the reorganization of the structure and organizational articulation of the Ministry and for the drafting of proposals to amend the organization regulations.”

The commission will be chaired by Giovanni Panebianco, secretary general of the MiBAC, and composed of Alfredo Moliterni (adviser to the minister, expert in administrative law), Giorgio Giorgi (journalist, head of the minister’s press office), Maurizio Decastri (professor of economics, adviser to the minister), Lorenzo D’Ascia (state lawyer, head of the legislative office) and Marina Giuseppone (director general of organization of the MiBAC). However, the commission may be supplemented at the invitation of the chairman, and all its members will not receive compensation or reimbursement for their work.

The commission will finish its work on March 4, the date set for the delivery to the minister of a report on its work, including the proposals developed for the reorganization of MiBAC. There may, however, be, if the president has assessed the need, an extension of up to thirty days.
