Reopened, at the end of complex upgrading, accessibility enhancement, plant renewal, with the introduction of air conditioning, and energy efficiency (thanks to which savings of about 30 percent are expected), the Estense Hall in Ferrara. The total investment was 550 thousand euros, from municipal funds (for about 350 thousand euros) and Pnrr (for 200 thousand euros).
The Estense Hall was originally the court chapel, an integral part of the ducal palace of the Este family, now the town hall. It was built between 1476 and 1480 by Duke Ercole I d’Este, who had it built for his wife Eleonora of Aragon. The Hall opens onto the ancient ducal courtyard, now the Town Hall Square, and by reopening its doors it is available to the city.
The reopening was held this morning in the presence of Mayor Alan Fabbri and councillors Marco Gulinelli and Andrea Maggi, and on this occasion engineer Paolo Rebecchi, sole manager of all procedures and a member of the team that worked on the work, illustrated the interventions carried out. The technical team that has been engaged in the interventions in recent months consists of architectural designer and director of works, Rossella Bizzi, facilities designer and operations director Massimo Bottacini, and safety coordinator during the design and execution phase Barbara Guerzoni.
In the afternoon, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the hall will remain open to the public for tours with free admission.
