Also returning this year, for the tenth consecutive year, are the extraordinary nighttime openings of the Vatican Museums: every Friday evening, from April 26 to October 25, 2019, from 7 to 11 p.m. (last entry at 9:30 p.m.), the public will be able to visit the famous museum venue off the beaten track of the tourist circuits.
As every year, live music will be offered to accompany the opening of the museums by night: Museidisera Arte, Musica is the title of the musical event born from the collaboration between the Vatican Museums and the Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica (CIDIM). Every Friday, the evening openings will be enriched by two concerts of classical, jazz or popular music. All musical performances, which will begin at 8 p.m. and last about 60 minutes, are included in the cost of the normal ticket and will be hosted in the Cortile della Pigna and among the famous Greek and Roman sculptures of the Gregorian Profane Museum.
Theagreement with ATAC has been renewed again this year: all Metrebus Card and èRoma Card holders, exclusively during the evening openings, will be able to take part in the Friday night tour at the special price of 17 euros.
In addition, from April to October, except for the months of July and August, the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo will also welcome visitors and tourists on Sundays, thanks to the extraordinary Sunday openings. Also on this occasion, there are discounts with ATAC for all Metrebus Card and èRoma Card holders.
During the evening openings, online reservations are mandatory.
