The Venice Foundation has appointed the director of the M9 Museum in Mestre: he is Marco Biscione.
After a long experience within structures suited to the enhancement and dissemination of culture, Biscione will direct the M9 Museum in Mestre, a newly conceived cultural center: the museum is flanked by exhibition spaces, a mediatheque-archive, and areas for education, and was created to study and question modernity and contemporaneity.
From 2002 to 2006 Biscione was called as an expert on secondment by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities to the Directorate General for Education and Culture of the European Commission, and from 2006 to 2009 he was Contact Person for the General Secretariat of Mibac for European Union programs and policies in the Culture sector. Director of the Civic Museums of Udine from 2010 to 2014, while in 2015 he took over as head of MAO-Museo d’Arte Orientale in Turin.
The official appointment will be held on Friday, July 27, at noon at the Venice Foundation in the presence of the newly appointed director and the president, Giampietro Brunello.
