MiBACT today kicks off the selection of training internships for digitization.
“The digitization of cultural heritage, as well as that of national archives and libraries, is of strategic importance for the future of Italy,” said Minister Dario Franceschini. “Thanks to the refinancing, in the amount of €300,000 for 2020 and €1 million for 2021, with the August Decree of the ”Youth Fund for Culture," the Ministry’s program of advanced training for young people who wish to perfect skills in the area of the enjoyment and enhancement of cultural heritage continues. Today we launch the selection of the first forty training internships for young cultural professionals."
The public selection notice is online, at www.beniculturali.it: forty training and orientation internships will be activated to train young people up to twenty-nine years of age, who will participate in the implementation of specific projects in the field of archives and digitization throughout the country.
For 2020, the forty internships have been divided into thirty positions at the Central State Archives, Archival and Bibliographic Superintendencies and State Archives; ten positions at the Central Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage (Digital Library), the Central Institute for Archives, the Central Institute for Sound and Audiovisual Assets, the Central Institute for Catalogue and Documentation and the Central Institute for the Single Catalogue of Italian Libraries.
Applicants may apply both for participation in the selection of internships activated at the Central State Archives, Archival and Bibliographic Superintendencies and State Archives and for those activated at the Digital Library. The application must be completed and submitted electronically starting at 10 a.m. Dec. 15, 2020 and by 2 p.m. Jan. 30, 2021 at https://procedimenti.beniculturali.it/40giovani.
