CRT Foundation puts out 2.5 million euros for assets in Piedmont and Aosta Valley

'Restoration Sites Widespread', an initiative of the CRT Foundation that puts 2.5 million euros on the cultural heritage of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley, gets underway.

The CRT Foundation has put out a call for proposals for "Restoration Sites Widespread," an initiative that allocates 2.5 million euros to revive historical, artistic and architectural assets of particular value and value in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta, thus ensuring their protection, preservation in good condition and enjoyment by the public. The Foundation allocates up to 40,000 euros for each “work site” of intervention - they will support the restoration of movable property (canvases, organs, statues, wooden furnishings) and immovable property subject to protection. Part of the resources may also be allocated to the restoration of historical organs of proven historical and artistic value.

In addition to the restoration works, the projects will have to make explicit the enhancement actions that will be put in place to promote the knowledge and full enjoyment of the assets and places, improving, for example, the conditions of use and opening to the public. Public or religious bodies, associations, foundations, museums, committees and nonprofit organizations can participate in the call for proposals: applications for contributions must concern assets for which final/executive projects have already been prepared and authorized by the Superintendencies and can be implemented within a year.
“With the call for Restorations and Widespread Construction Sites we have been supporting for 15 years interventions that restore to their original splendor the valuable assets in which Piedmont and the Aosta Valley are rich, with the dual objective of safeguarding the ’beautiful’ and to put the historical-artistic heritage at the center of the life of our territories,” says Fondazione CRT President Giovanni Quaglia. “The involvement of local communities in the various phases of the recovery, enhancement and future use of the assets contributes to enriching the value and significance, including social significance, of a splendid but, at times, little visible heritage.”

"Alongside some of our major works, such as the recovery and rebirth of the OGR or the participation in major initiatives such as the Residenze Sabaude, the opening of many new ’widespread construction sites’ in the territory triggers a virtuous circle, not only for the tourist and cultural attractiveness of the area, but also for theeconomy as a whole, generating a ’flywheel’ effect for jobs and businesses," says Fondazione CRT Secretary General Massimo Lapucci “By supporting projects that can be built within a year, the grants made available by the ’Restorations’ call have the characteristic of being readily available right where they are needed.”

The deadline is 3 p.m. June 29, 2018.
