The Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice has appointed its new director, Cristiana Collu, who will thus take over from September 2024 from Marigusta Lazzari. The appointment was decided unanimously by the foundation’s president, Paolo Molesini, and board members Shaul Bassi, Donatella Calabi and Gilberto Muraro.

After directing the MAN in Nuoro, Collu was director of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome and MART in Trento and Rovereto.
“Cristiana Collu is a figure of absolute prestige, competence and professionalism with a unique profile in the museum scene. She will carry on the mission of Querini Stampalia, picking up the baton from Marigusta Lazzari,” said Fondazione Querini Stampalia President Paolo Molesini. “The high profile of the many professionals who have expressed interest in the appointment confirm Querini’s reputation: a place of research and education, of meeting and confrontation, of personal growth and dissemination of knowledge.
