Creating site-specific works for Trajan's Markets. A call for artists

Live Museum, Live Change launches call for artists to create site-specific works for Trajan's Markets.

Live Museum, Live Change launches a call to individual artists or grouped together in a collective for them to intervene with site-specific works inside the Mercati di Traiano: on Friday, November 22, 2019, PAV’s project will be presented, carried out under theLazio Region’s Atelier Arte Bellezza Cultura Notice, thanks to the collaboration with Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Crescita culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali.

The artists will have to create installations or multimedia works that can dialogue not only with the historical and cultural context of the place, but also with today’s visitors. The works will be executed after a short residency period at the inhabited museum on Via Quattro Novembre and will be placed in the courtyard of the Small Hemicycle.

The theme of Live Museum, Live Change and of the call itself is transformation as a phenomenon, both natural and complex, that makes the museum a living, current and ever-growing place: transformation as a shared action that makes the museum a living garden, not just a place to visit but a space for dialogue and shared growth. Giving new meanings to the area, transforming it into a place of artistic creation and a new relationship with the city, generating synergies, enhancing the experience of citizens within the museum, articulating a different possibility of looking. These are the goals of the call and of the entire project, which aims to multiply opportunities for discovery, study and storytelling around a central place in the city of Rome.

Deadline for submission is Monday, December 16, 2019.
