The exhibition Caravaggio Napoli, curated by Maria Cristina Terzaghi and Sylvain Bellenger at the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte (until July 14, 2019), with production and organization by Electa publishing house, delves into Caravaggio’s Neapolitan period, during his two stays between 1606 and 1610, and the legacy he left in the Neapolitan city. With a rigorous scholarly approach, it compares 6 works by Caravaggio from Italian and international institutions and 22 paintings by Neapolitan artists, who immediately register its novelty by being overwhelmed by recurring subjects in the Master’s paintings.
