The Sixth Section of the Council of State has rejected the appeal of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage on the Certosa di Trisulti. The Ministry, in fact, had revoked the concession of the thirteenth-century monastery in Collepardo (Frosinone) to the Dignitatis Humanae Institute (DHI) foundation, an institute close to Steve Bannon and of an ultra-conservative stamp. The MiBACT had found several irregularities and ended up annulling the granting order. However, the revocation decree had been suspended by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, upholding the suspension filed by DHI.
MiBACT had appealed to the Council of State against the revocation of the measure, but the appeal was rejected, in a ruling published on Feb. 24. Theorder reads, “Considering that there is no irreparable damage that cannot wait for the definition of the judgment on the merits, given that the public hearing before the court of first instance has already been set for March 11, 2020 (in about 20 days),” the “Council of State in the judicial branch rejects the appeal and compensates the costs of the present precautionary phase.”
Everything therefore postponed to March 11, when the new decision on the matter will arrive and it will be known whether the Certosa di Trisulti can still be used by the sovereignist foundation.
