Bernini opens the new season of L'Arte al Cinema: only Nov. 12,13 and 14 in Italian cinemas

The ducumentary, titled Bernini, directed by Francesco Invernizzi, will be distributed by Magnitudofilm and CHILI Cinema, and will tell the story through never-before-seen footage of the highest quality and the contribution of professionals and connoisseurs of great caliber, including the director of the Galleria Borghese Anna Coliva, the art criticart critic Luigi Ficacci and Fondazione Zeri director Andrea Bacchi, the exhibition that has been dedicated to the great artist at the Galleria Borghese in Rome from November 1, 2017 to February 4, 2018. An exhibition that has been described by art experts as Bernini’s homecoming and presented the public with a selection of more than sixty of his masterpieces.

In order to create a direct dialogue between the viewer and the works on display in the Galleria Borghese, including theApollo and Daphne, Aeneas, Anchises and Ascanius Fleeing Troy, the Rape of Proserpine and the David, the director chose to structure the documentary film as a series of nine story settings, one for each section of the exhibition. The nine sections are reflected in the sequence of the rooms, where the magnificence of such an extraordinary place as the Galleria Borghese is told with dynamic passages first of general view and then of detail, on the decorations of the wall spaces and the masterpieces on display. The spoken presentation of the works will be accompanied by 8K footage with shots on multiple planes and with lighting effects that will bring out the peculiarities of these extraordinary masterpieces.

In addition, to allow the viewer to capture the aspects of the city of Rome that influenced Bernini, there will be no shortage of shots outside the walls of the Borghese Gallery, with daytime and nighttime glimpses that will create a sort of theatrical scene, dear to the artist.
