Banksy makes new works in London, one a day: it's his London Zoo

A productive week for the famous British street artist Banksy who has been making new works, depicting animals, in different parts of London day after day. Here's what his London zoo looks like. And today a rhino pops up.

It has been a productive week for the famous British street artist whose identity is still unknown: from Monday to last Sunday Banksy has in fact created seven new works in seven different locations in London that go to make up a real zoo. These in fact all depict animals, so much so that on social media the new street art project has been dubbed the London Zoo, but there is no statement of intent from Banksy himself.

On Monday, a goat appeared on a ledge of a white wall of a building in the Kew Bridge area of London, balancing as if on a mountain rock; on Tuesday in Chelsea two elephants appeared on two fake windows of a building, looking at each other and as if to greet each other, raising their trunks towards each other; on Wednesday on a railway bridge in Brick Lane here appeared three monkeys circling. The zoo continued with a wolf howling at the moon on a satellite dish on the roof of a building in Peckham, then with two pelicans ready to eat a fish each on the yellow sign of Bonners Fish Bar on Northcote Road in North London; on Saturday a stretching lioness appeared in Cricklewood on the wooden frame of a billboard, and on Sunday an aquarium with fish was painted on a police garret located on Ludgate Hill. The latter work differs from the others in that it is the only one painted in greater detail as opposed to the other six, which are black stencils.

In addition, of the seven works in the London Zoo, one, the one depicting the wolf on the parabolic dish, was stolen, although it looked more like a performance gesture, another, namely the pair of elephants, was vandalized, and the goat was put under perspex.

But Banksy’s London zoo does not stop: today a rhinoceros popped up, on Westmore Street in Charlton. What more should we expect?
