The wave of bad weather that has hit northern Italy in recent hours has also been felt in the province of Parma, where the Parma torrent overflowed and flooded the town of Colorno, reaching as far as the Reggia, also known as the Ducal Palace, the residence built by Duke Francesco Farnese and then, in the Napoleonic era, became the home of Maria Luigia of Austria.

The Parma came close to ten meters high and poured into the city: at the Reggia, water invaded the porticos to a height of at least forty centimeters. Windows on the ground floor were destroyed, flooded the technical rooms, as well as the beautiful historic garden.
