Cinecittà is also joining the #IoRestoaCasa campaign with a social campaign called At Home with Cinecittà. Twice a week, the Instagram, Facebook(@Cinecittasimostra) and Twitter(@CinecittaSM) profiles of Cinecittà si Mostra, the permanent exhibition that allows the general public to visit the establishments on Via Tuscolana, offer illustrative videos and educational materials for free download.
Special posts, designed by the Education Department, which throughout the year with qualified staff animates routes, guided tours and workshop activities of Cinecittà si Mostra. Just like the initiatives carried out by the Department from 2011 to the present, the posts are designed to make Cinecittà live as an active and dynamic space, where it is possible to combine cinema, culture, education and entertainment.
All activities are differentiated and designed for different age groups: a content with downloadable materials aimed at families and children is released every Monday. Already available among the published posts is the content dedicated to Scenography with a Crucipuzzle with which to measure skill and eye-gazing, and the card to understand how a Storyboard is created, published together with an anecdote about the childhood of the great Martin Scorsese, who shot the masterpiece Gangs of New York at Cinecittà.
This week begins with material on the Totoro Garden, an initiative inspired by the world-loved Studio Ghibli character, which aims to raise awareness of environmental issues among children, with helpful instructions on how to become skilled gardeners.
Upcoming releases include: Monday, April 6 - Discovering Costume; April 13 - Author’s Animations cycle with content from one of Hayao Miyazaki’s cult films, The Enchanted City; April 20 - Set Dressing featuring the permanent set of Cinecittà’s Ancient Rome; April 27 - Author’s Animations Cycle with materials on the film The 5 Lionni, the collection of stories by the brilliant artist and illustrator Leo Lionni animated by Giulio Gianini.
Every Friday, At Home with Cinecittà instead offers a series of video posts for adult audiences, film education pills to discover the Factory of Dreams, including sets and exhibitions, but also its most famous guest, Federico Fellini. The cycle already includes the video dedicated to the new exhibition Felliniana - Ferretti dreams of Fellini, the creative homage to the Rimini master by his set designer, Oscar winner Dante Ferretti. The next releases will feature: April 3 - Permanent Set of Ancient Rome, April 10 - Backstage, the theme of fiction and special effects, April 17 - Journey into Rationalist Architecture between Cinecittà and Eur, April 24 - Permanent Set of the Submarine, while a sketch of Federico Fellini is scheduled for May 1.
All films are also uploaded to the official YouTube channel of Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
Cinecittà si Mostra is not forgetting how important accessibility is, so the calendar of social releases includes a focus on accessible cinema in LIS, the Sign Language, scheduled for Wednesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 22, with the themes Felliniana and Architecture, respectively.
The programming of the educational activities is curated by Barbara Goretti, Cinecittà si Mostra and Educational Department Manager. The proposals are designed and implemented in collaboration with “Untitled” Projects Open to Culture.
At Home with Cinecittà is part of the initiatives thanks to which Istituto Luce Cinecittà adheres, with all its sites and social platforms (starting with the site of the immense Luce Archive and the information site CinecittàNews), to the national campaign #IoRestoaCasa, promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT), to bring in the days of the emergency, inside the homes of all Italians, a great offer of video, textual, iconographic content, dedicated to culture, entertainment, information and education.
