Winner of the first edition of the Playable Museum Award is Arvind Sanjeev with his project Lumen. The award ceremony of the ideas competition launched by the Marino Marini Museum with coordination by engagement scientist and game designer Fabio Viola and in collaboration with theTuoMuseo Cultural Association to imagine the museum of the future will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 3 p.m., at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, in the panel dedicated to Smart Museums of the BTO11 event.
During the award ceremony, young interaction designer and software engineer Arvind Sanjeev will present for the first time LUMEN, a mixed reality storytelling platform that allows audiences to immerse themselves in an alternative reality - AR/VR - through machine learning and video mapping technologies.
A high-tech device that enables, without screens and viewers, immersive immersion in museum spaces and interaction with artworks that change and tell new stories.
The international jury chose and awarded Lumen from among 240 projects submitted from around the world.
Arvind Sanjeev (Kerala, India, 1991) is a young interaction designer and computer engineer. He is currently practicing in Sweden. He is described as a serial innovator on various platforms, and he founded and runs an interesting educational initiative, DIY Hacking (now known as Maker.Pro). Yahoo-Accenture honored him as “Most Promising Innovator.”
During the award ceremony, the call for entries for the second international Playable Museum Award call will be announced. Entries will be open from Monday, March 25, 2019.
The projects, which must be unpublished and original, will be screened by an international jury of experts. The winner will receive a grant of ten thousand euros and support for the implementation of the project.
