Aosta Valley reopens museums even on holidays: assemblage risk insubstantial

Valle d'Aosta has already reopened museums on holidays: in fact, the region considers the risk of gatherings in cultural venues to be insubstantial.

In Valle d’Aosta, museums, archaeological sites and libraries will reopen on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with reservations required: this is what Ordinance 56 signed on Friday by President Erik Lavevaz, who also authorized personal training activities in fitness centers and gyms throughout the region (in the case of gyms, a specific regional protocol was also issued).

Val d’Aosta is thus leveraging its autonomy to anticipate the opening of cultural venues on weekends. The measure, reads the ordinance signed by Lavevaz, was also taken after taking into consideration “the number of potential visitors to museums and other places and institutes of culture, referred to in Article 101 of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape, referred to in Legislative Decree January 22, 2004, no. 42, including libraries, of the breadth of spaces that characterizes most sites compared to the flow of users of the entire week with the consequent insussistence of the risk of assemblages, to be contained in any case by organizing access by compulsory reservation.”

For Valle d’Aosta, therefore, there is no risk of assemblages for places of culture, and for this reason it was decided that “the service of opening to the public of museums and other institutes and places of culture, referred to in Article 101 of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape, referred to in Legislative Decree No. 42 of January 22, 2004, including libraries, will be carried out every day, including holidays, in compliance with the protocols in force and with the access of visitors only by reservation.”

The ordinance went into effect yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 6, and will last until Feb. 15, unless different measures are taken based on the progress of the Covid-19 outbreak.
