A new museum dedicated to Pablo Picasso, the famous Malaga painter, will rise in the French resort of Aix-en-Provence, probably in 2021.
Catherine Hutin-Blay, daughter of Picasso’s last wife, Jacqueline Roque, is finalizing negotiations for a new museum in honor of her father that will be built inside an old convent.
Hutin-Blay is heir to two thousand works, including paintings and sculptures, ceramics, illustrations and photographs, dating from the last period of Picasso’s artistic activity.
The large museum will be divided into three floors to house a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. It will also be home to a research center, ceramics workshops and a 200-seat auditorium.
