A suspended walkway was inaugurated in recent days to allow only pedestrians to view the Tiberius Bridge in Rimini’s Borgo San Giuliano from a new perspective.
A path to reach the dock level along the side of the walls on the right bank on the historic center side.
The steel structure with larch wood decking is part of the Tiberio 4 - Porto Antico project to enhance the city’s historical and cultural resources and redevelop the entire area.
Mayor Andrea Gnassi said, "When there is an identity sign, an important work like this that is delivered to the city we also regain a sense of belonging. This intervention reconnects us with our memory and identity and serves us to move forward, to look to the future.
Rimini is investing in its roots and it is through its heritage that it will be possible to generate work, economy and at the same time, care, beauty and a sense of belonging.
This heritage of beauty has to be offered to the people, to the city, because it creates community; then it has to be offered to the tourist in a walkway that goes from Rimini Caput Viarium, to the Fulgor, Piazza Malatesta and Castel Sismondo, to the Galli Theater, which we will reopen soon and which will give further certainty about the city’s prospects.
This walkway is not a work in itself but is part of an idea of the city, it is included in an overall project."
