A star on the Walk of Fame for the unforgettable tenor Luciano Pavarotti

A series of events, Luciano Pavarotti. La Stella, to be held on the 24th and 25th in the California metropolis, will accompany the ceremony and will be produced and curated by Cinzia Salvioli’s Italian film production Albedo Production together with Paolo Rossi Pisu’s Genoma Films and Silvia Bizio, Anna Manunza and Cecilia Miniucchi, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the municipalities of Modena and Pesaro, and the Rossini Opera Festival.

Two Italian videos, previously unseen in the United States, will be screened on this occasion: Giuseppe Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, with the Rai’s Rome Symphony Orchestra and the Rai’s Milan and Rome Choirs conducted by Claudio Abbado in the Basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva in Rome in 1970, preserved in the archives of Rai Teche and offered for the first time in the version restored by the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna by the “L’immagine ritrovata” laboratory, and a selection of five excerpts from the last of the three recitals Pavarotti gave as soloist at Teatro alla Scala in 1983.

Completing the program of celebrations will be an exhibition space dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti that will be inaugurated at the Grammy Museum.
