The major exhibition on Caravaggio (Milan, 1571 - Porto Ercole, 1610) being held in Milan’s Palazzo Reale opens on Friday, September 29, the birthday of the great Michelangelo Merisi (who went down in art history as Caravaggio).We have visited it in advance and in this article we offer some photographs we took along the exhibition route, along with a video that takes you through a part of the exhibition and that we posted on our Facebook page(you can see it by clicking here). The exhibition, which is entitled Inside Caravaggio and is curated by Rossella Vodret, with a scientific committee chaired by Keith Christiansen, runs until January 28, 2018. Hours: Mondays from 2:30 to 10:30 pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 9:30 am to 8 pm; and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 pm. On Mondays, the 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. hours are for schools only. On Sept. 29 and Oct. 16 and 23, early closing at 8 p.m. The ticket office closes one hour earlier. Tickets: full 13 euros, reduced 11 euros (for visitors 6 to 26 years old, over 65, disabled, groups of minimum 15 and maximum 25 people, conventioned), reduced Card Musei Lombardia and Club Skira 9 euros, special reduced 7 euros (for schools, groups organized by FAI and Touring Club, non-accredited journalists), reduced family adult 11 euros and children 7 euros (valid for families consisting of one or two adults plus children 6 to 14 years old), free for under 6s, tour guides, accredited journalists, other conventioned. Advance reservation fees, 2 euros.
