All the exhibitions of the Florence A Year in Art 2014 event scheduled in the Tuscan capital, top events.

The press conference in which all the exhibitions of Firenze 2014 Un anno ad arte, the review that for several years has been held in the museums of the Polo Museale Fiorentino and that also this year offers a program of the highest level, ended a short while ago. Standing out above all are the two monographs, dedicated to Baccio Bandinelli (the first ever) and Jacopo Ligozzi (the first monograph for him as well, a “complete” monograph assures Superintendent Cristina Acidini). Also noteworthy are the exhibition on Medici reliquaries at the Museo degli Argenti and a tribute-exhibition to Michelangelo Buonarroti at the Galleria dell’Accademia realized in collaboration with the Alinari National Museum of Photography.

Treasures from the Archives and Libraries of Florence, an exhibition of ancient volumes, as well as documents, and drawings (including works by Raphael, Mantegna, Alessandro Allori, Giovanni Stradano), autographs of great figures in history and literature (Savonarola, Poliziano, Cosimo I, Ugo Foscolo, Eduardo De Filippo, Eugenio Montale... ), documenting broad passages of Florentine culture and beyond throughout history (Jan. 28 to April 27, 2014 at the Palatina Gallery)
  2. The Room of the Muses. Baroque Paintings from the Collection of the Conductor Francesco Molinari Pradelli, a selection of works of art from the collection put together by the famous conductor and now based in Marano di Castenaso, in the province of Bologna, and includes works by artists such as Guido Cagnacci, Bernardo Strozzi and Sebastiano Ricci (Feb. 11 to May 11, 2014 at the Uffizi Gallery)
  3. Re-acquainting Michelangelo, an exhibition that, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death, celebrates the great master Michelangelo Buonarroti with works by painters, sculptors and photographers who were inspired by his genius (Feb. 18 to May 18, 2014 at the Galleria dell’Accademia)
  4. Baccio Bandinelli sculptor (1493-1560), first monographic exhibition on the Mannerist sculptor (from April 9 to July 13, 2014 at the Museo Nazionale del Bargello)
  5. Sacred Splendors. The Treasure of the “Chapel of Relics” in the Pitti Palace, an exhibition on Medici reliquaries, important testimonies of devotion between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (from May 20 to September 28, 2014 at the Museo degli Argenti)

  8. "The Fortune of the Primitives. Art Treasures from Italian Collections between the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries, the first exhibition devoted to the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century collecting of Tuscan painters active between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries (June 24, 2014 to Dec. 8, 2015 at the Galleria dell’Accademia)
  9. The Modern Art Gallery of Palazzo Pitti one hundred years after its founding, an exhibition that on the centenary of the Gallery’s founding showcases its twentieth-century collection (currently not on view) with a new layout (from Sept. 30, 2014 to Jan. 11, 2015 at the Gallery of Modern Art)
