Bad weather: extensive damage to the Ugo Guidi Museum in Forte dei Marmi

You may have heard about the blizzard that hit Versilia tonight, particularly Forte dei Marmi. As soon as we saw the pictures of the devastation that the Versilia Riviera town suffered, we immediately got in touch with Vittorio Guidi, the director of the Ugo Guidi Museum in Forte dei Marmi. Unfortunately, the Museum also suffered damage and it seems that, moreover, it is also extensive.

One of the tufa statues decorating the museum’s garden was destroyed, the roof of the building was uncovered for about ten meters, and the exterior signage also suffered major damage. Nevertheless, Vittorio Guidi has assured that the exhibition due to open on Sunday, March 8, the solo show of young sculptor Sarah Atzeni entitled Pelle di rugiada, will still follow the planned schedule, which you can find on the museum’s official website, www.ugoguidi.it.

For now we are just giving you this brief flash, also because given the situation we did not want to disturb Vittorio more than that, but we wanted to let you know, because this museum as you know is one of our favorites, it is probably the one we have visited most often, we have been collaborating with them for years, and we have seen it “grow” almost from its beginnings.
