Vittoriale reopens Prioria, house museum of Gabriele d'Annunzio

From May 30 to June 2, 2020, the Vittoriale degli Italiani will reopen the Priory, the home of Gabriele d’Annunzio: thus, all of the Vittoriale’s spaces, including the Secret D’Annunzio Museum and theAuditorium, will be accessible to the public. The park, on the other hand, can be visited from May 18.

The Priory is d’Annunzio’slast home: a furnished and decorated house museum, a symbol of his inimitable living. Some 10,000 objects and 33,000 books are housed inside, and enigmatic phrases and mottos are found on lintels and fireplaces, with a continuous interplay of cross-references. Painted stained glass windows, heavy curtains, and soft lighting all contribute to making this place very atmospheric.

To visit the house, tickets must be purchased online, on the Vittoriale website, and admission will be at a reduced price: 14 euros instead of 16, with an additional reduction to 12 euros for families, children and youth aged 7 to 18 and over 65. Only four people will have simultaneous access to the house, accompanied by the guide (five people in the case of a family unit).
