'Unexpected' guests at Milan's Diocesan Museum: new series of meetings kicks off on Zoom

After the great success of the first season, the series of meetings on Zoom with museum directors and journalists resumes at the Diocesan Museum in Milan: "The Unexpected Guest" (this title) starts Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The Diocesan Museum “Carlo Maria Martini” of Milan kicks off, starting Tuesday, January 19, a new cycle of online meetings, entitled The Unexpected Guest. After the great success with the public of the past “virtual” meetings of the Corso Porta Ticinese institute (more than 1,000 people per evening on average during the first cycle), it will be repeated with a second season featuring, among the guests, museum directors such as James Bradburne, Micol Forti, Marco Pierini, and journalists such as Teresa Monestiroli, Francesca Bonazzoli, Giuseppe Frangi, and Luca Fiore, who will talk about art through books, exhibitions, projects, and works. The initiatives will be held, as usual for the Diocesan Museum of Milan, on the Zoom platform. The format sees Nadia Righi, director of the Diocesan Museum, meet virtually with art historians, journalists, and museum directors to learn through books, exhibitions, projects, and works of art about the many nuances of beauty.

The first appointment will be with Teresa Monestiroli, journalist for Repubblica, who will offer the second stage of “Milano adagio,” a walk in search and discovery of Milan’s artistic treasures. The calendar continues on Tuesday, Jan. 26, with James Bradburne, director of the Pinacoteca di Brera; Tuesday, Feb. 2, with Francesca Bonazzoli, journalist for Corriere della Sera; Tuesday, Feb. 9, with Marco Pierini and Gail E. Solberg, director of the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia and curator of the Taddeo di Bartolo exhibition, respectively; Tuesday, Feb. 16 with Giuseppe Frangi, journalist and editor of the monthly Vita; Tuesday, Feb. 23 with Micol Forti, director of the Vatican Museums Contemporary Art Collection; and Tuesday, March 2 with Luca Fiore, journalist for Tracce and Il Foglio.
