The Royal Palace of Caserta launches audio guides for children

The Royal Palace of Caserta launches audio guides designed especially for children: young visitors will be accompanied by King Charles and Menino.

The Royal Palace of Caserta is told to young visitors thanks to audio guides designed especially for them: the cultural heritage of the Vanvitellian Complex is thus revealed to children by King Charles and Menino.

Collaboration between museum services and the service concessionaire, Opera Laboratori, resulted in the important project aimed at introducing children to the beauty of the Reggia. The museum institute expands its offerings, allocating, for the first time, audioguides to children as well.

King Charles and Menino, a character created last year to illustrate the rules and accompany the public on the tour, will accompany young visitors by telling the story and details of the Royal Apartments in a simple and humorous way. Menino, a Gascon, irreverent and disrespectful, is convinced that he can do whatever he wants inside the museum. It will be the king who will show him the right way and correct his impertinent temperament. The narrative, at the conclusion of the twelve-stage museum tour from the Cannocchiale to the Presepe, is enriched with two stories, “An Elephant at Court” and “The Gardens of the Royal Palace of Caserta.” The development of the numbered story is indicated in each room of the Royal Apartments on the room panels, where the little ones can find the figure of Menino with headphones. Just type the number on the device’s keyboard to start the audio.

The audio guides, available in Italian and English, but soon in other languages, were created by AudioGuide - Florence. They are available, in limited numbers, at the Opera Laboratori information point at a cost of 4 euros.
