Arriving in Italy for the first time is the Next Museum, a new fully multimedia, immersive, and technological space born from the experience of Next Exhibition staff. The Next Museum will not house paintings or historical artifacts, but will be animmersion in virtual realities. Every detail of this space is designed to create multisensory experiences about art, history, society, and culture in the broadest and most modern sense. The spacious rooms will be equipped with the latest technology: videomapping, 3D images and holograms, ultra-high definition mega projections, and virtual reality viewers. State-of-the-art tools to immerse oneself inside the works of the great national and international masters, in their colors, shapes and minds.
Not forgetting the metaverse, with which visitors will be able to visit parallel worlds, go back in time and get to know the artists of the past. Thus, the protagonist of the exhibitions will be the public, who will literally walk alongside famous figures from the world of art and history, from Van Gogh to Klimt, from Monet to Frida Kahlo, via Tutankhamen.
The Next Museum will open its first two locations in Turin and Rome. In Turin, it is scheduled to open in September at Corso Umbria 83, in the urban industrial redevelopment area of Parco Dora. In Rome, on the other hand, it will be based in the former Avila cinema, a few steps from Villa Borghese, at Corso d’Italia 37. It will open in the fall and the first exhibition to be hosted at the Capitoline venue will be the Van Gogh Experience. A journey through swirling forms and disarming landscapes that envelops the visitor in 360 degrees. A journey intended to lead to an understanding of Van Gogh’s inner torment, the meaning of his thoughts and his states of mind. The viewer’s senses are amplified through waves of images and sounds, thanks to videomapping and a soundtrack that underscores the deep emotionality of each passage.
For Next Museums, Next Exhibition management will collaborate with academic institutions specializing in the study of new technologies and institutions in the area.
