Starting today, the Baths of Caracalla safely reopen. Rome’s Special Superintendent’s Office has finalized the strategic plan to allow visitors to tour the archaeological area and park in their entirety.
“The Baths of Caracalla are once again becoming the place of beauty and well-being in Rome,” said Special Superintendent, Daniela Porro. “Not only an archaeological site among the most important and impressive in the capital, but also a lush green park where culture and quiet can be enjoyed together. The Baths open their doors wide again under the banner of safety, addressing even more to Romans and all those who wish to know its eternal charm.”
It will be possible to visit the Baths of Caracalla Thursday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. (last entry at 6:30 p.m.) with extended hours.
Groups will have access every fifteen minutes with a maximum of ten people, allowing forty visitors per hour.
Reservations are required and tickets must be purchased online at www.coopculture.it
“This is a new way to visit the Baths,” commented director Marina Piranomonte, “to enjoy this magical place in a more intimate and rarefied dimension. An opportunity for visitors to appreciate every detail of the majestic architecture, the refined mosaics, the celebrated gardens and the solemn spaces charged with history.”
