As Friuli Venezia Giulia moves into the orange zone, Miramare Park will reopen from Monday, April 12, while there will still be a wait to access the Historical Museum.
“It is a real relief to be able to open the gates again,” said Miramare Castle Park and Historical Museum director Andreina Contessa. “Reopening the Park thanks to the waiver received, gives me particular satisfaction because it is really important that citizens can enjoy the beauty and harmony that, particularly in this period, the parterre, the camellia path, the wisteria-covered porticos and all the nature that is awakening.”
Last fall, tens of thousands of bulbs of crocuses, daffodils, muscari and other flowers were planted, and in recent weeks they have bloomed in the parterre beds, in the high areas near the arbutus grove, in the escarpments that line the path above the Avenue of the Holm oaks and in the area of the old greenhouses. Camellias planted recently in the renovated pathway dedicated to them have also bloomed. Wisteria is also ready to coat the porticos of the forecourt in front of the Castle in lilac. They will also be taken outside in days, which started last September.
Miramare Park will reopen to the public with the usual hours of the period (8 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Visitors will have to comply with hygiene and sanitation rules: wear a mask covering nose and mouth, respect interpersonal spacing of at least one meter and prohibition of assemblages, frequently sanitize hands.
Starting Monday, Miramare Park reopens with its spring blooms |
