Starting in August, the entire Siena Cathedral Complex will be open again.

As of Saturday, August 1, the entire Monumental Complex of the Cathedral of Siena will reopen to the public: it will be possible to access not only the Cathedral and the Museum, but also the Porta del Cielo, the Facciatone, the Crypt, the Baptistery and the Piccolomini Library, the latter having just undergone new lighting.

The hours and ticketing conditions will be the ordinary ones.

The tour route runs inside the Cathedral, with the floor and the Gate of Heaven, and includes the Museo dell’Opera with a climb to the Facciatone, continuing to the Crypt and Baptistery.

The Piccolomini Library shines with new light thanks to the collaboration of theOpera della Metropolitana with ERCO, a specialist in architectural lighting. Also completed was the wooden restoration of the counters and display cases with replacement of the glass panes enclosing precious illuminated manuscripts: in this way the cathedral’s Chorales can be admired in every detail. The restoration also involved the stone portal inside the Bookcase, the aedicule above and the Three Graces group.

The reservation service can be accessed online or through a call center and will avoid queues for entry.

Ordinary ticketing resumes with the possibility of purchasing theOpa Si Pass at a cost of 13 euros that allows access to the entire complex (except for the Gate of Heaven, which has restricted access).
