Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m., at the headquarters of the Quadriennale di Roma in Villa Carpegna , the first meeting of Storie del XXI secolo, a series of appointments on the history of Italian art in the 21st century curated by art critic Ludovico Pratesi. Histories of the 21st Century is a course dedicated not only to collectors and patrons but to anyone interested in learning more about and following closely the most current art in our country. As many as 18 appointments are scheduled between May and December 2022, with 9 face-to-face meetings (both online and in-person) and 9 tours of artists’ studios, collections, and contemporary art spaces.
The cycle is divided into two parts: the first (between May and July 2022) is devoted to a contextual framework on Italian art of the last two decades, while the second (between September and December 2022) focuses on an in-depth study of some emblematic figures. The scientific coordination is entrusted to Ludovico Pratesi, who will lead the meetings with the participation of guest artists and curators.
To participate, it is necessary to join the Friends of the Quadrennial membershipprogram. For those under 35, becoming a friend of the Quadrennial and being able to participate in Stories of the 21st Century costs 150 euros per year. For Friends over 35, the cost is 250 euros per year. Supporting Friends will be able to demonstrate their dual interest in the institution and its programs with 500 euros per year. All Friends, will be sent a copy of the publications published by the Quadrennial in the current year.
