Rome, Cinecittà reopens its exhibitions May 29

Starting May 29, Cinecittà reopens its doors to allow film fans to visit its permanent exhibits.

Every weekend, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., visitors will be able to explore the “Hollywood on the Tiber” (as it was once called) safely as they discover the 40 hectares of space available, the monumental open-air sets and the large central park, inhabited by original scenic elements, including the Venusia, the large woman’s head used for the filming of Federico Fellini’s Il Casanova.

The permanent exhibits, it said, are Cinecittà si Mostra, a journey through the history of Italian cinema and the Studios that takes in the large permanent sets of Ancient Rome, Temple of Jerusalem and 1400s Florence; Felliniana, dedicated to Federico Fellini on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth; and that of MIAC, the Italian Museum of Audiovisual and Cinema.

“Being able to reopen the exhibitions and the museum. We will thus allow the general public to walk again through the tree-lined avenues that have seen the most important faces of national and international cinema pass by,” comments Giancarlo Di Gregorio, director of Cinecittà si Mostra. “This is an important effort. But it testifies to how much our desire to pursue the mission of knowledge and enhancement of the heritage of Cinecittà Studios has not lost priority. Not even with the stop imposed by the Covid-19 emergency.”

Starting in June, In Family visits will also be available by reservation (visit@cinecittaluce.it). This is a completely outdoor activity experience for family units designed in full compliance with health safety measures. To ensure maximum safety for the public, Cinecittà Studios has also taken all the necessary measures, starting from the reservation service via email at visit@cinecittaluce.it and online purchase of the entrance ticket at www.ticketone.it to the management of entrances and exits with visitors’ quota entrances by time slots. In addition, visits will take place according to “one-way” routes with staff managing the entrances, and there will be a mask requirement for both visitors and museum staff.
