After the reopening of the Diocesan Museum of Albenga, with its renovated layout and temporary exhibition “In Coena Domini” (March 31-October 1, 2023) featuring the Last Supper of Villa Guardia on display and musealized, another reopening affects this beautiful corner of western Liguria: on Saturday, April 8, the Diocesan Museum Section of the Upper Arroscia Valley will also reopen at theOratorio della Ripa in Pieve di Teco, a village in the Ingauno hinterland.
The detached section of the museum offers an important art gallery ranging from medieval frescoes to large Baroque and late Baroque altarpieces by authors who have made famous Ligurian ’Ligurian art over the centuries including, for example, a majestic wooden statue by Antonio Maria Maragliano and Domenico Piola’s large LastSupper, which refers to theLast Supper on display in Albenga, a wooden sculptural group dating from the early 16th century that is among the most striking creations of popular art in western Liguria.
