Is it possible to visit an exhibition through social media? That’s what the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia is doing with the first-ever monographic exhibition dedicated to the Sienese artist Taddeo di Bartolo (Siena, c. 1362 - 1422).
The exhibition, curated by the artist’s leading scholar, Gail E. Solberg, will be narrated through the Gallery’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles and Youtube channel, following the hashtag #congliocchchidiTaddeo.
But this is not the only social initiative proposed by the National Gallery of Umbria: the famous museum in Perugia has organized, for this period of Covid-19 emergency, an entire weekly program punctuated by various proposals and related hashtags. A way to spread art and culture and to keep everyone, young and old, company. A Spotify profile will even be launched to reach even the youngest.
Here’s the schedule of #theGalleriatifacompany: Monday mornings start immediately with #gliocchchidiTaddeo, while in the afternoons the Gallery recommends a #bookfortheweek; on Tuesdays it will air directly from the warehouses #islaltraGalleria, and for the very children #FavolArte, with the possibility of downloading a free ebook to read, reflect and learn; Wednesday will again be dedicated to #congliocchchidiTaddeo and discovering secrets, details and pearls of the collection with #allopera. Thursday will be the turn of #memories from the digital archive and #stories; Friday will be back to the #congliocchidiTaddeo exhibition and then the Gallery will offer playlists and music directly from Spotify.
On Saturday #trucchiparrucchi from behind the scenes and virtual visit to the Taddeo di Bartolo exhibition with #timostrolamostra. Finally on Sunday #wakeningAdArte and #creoadArte with virtual workshops for children dedicated to Taddeo.
All that remains is to follow all the initiatives to learn and have fun.
