MUSE on Air and many other initiatives for the Trent Museum of Science

Also participating in the #iorestoacasa campaign is MUSE - Trento’s Museum of Science and, for the occasion, is launching the digital platform Il MUSE to stay virtually close to the public through a series of initiatives that will involve them in remote exploration and participation activities.

There are many proposals from the museum:

- Step by step
The whole MUSE at the click of a mouse, organized as a guided tour of the museum, floor by floor, installation by installation. Each video, available on MUSE’s youtube channel, is accompanied by questions and online materials: from the birth and evolution of life on our planet to the human presence, to the relationship between humans and the environment and the latest space exploration. A virtual journey of discovery through five themes: History of Life, DNA, Aquariums and Tropical Greenhouse, Museum Galleries, and the temporary exhibition Cosmo Cartoons.

In the Video Library section, it will be possible to view some of the interventions of MUSE researchers and science facilitators, between television studios, museum spaces and field activities.

Four steps into prehistory: a collection of video materials, divided into chapters, tells the story of Prehistory, discovering the habits of our ancestors.
Pills of MUSE #iorestoacasa con la natura: from our photo archives, rich in still images of field or laboratory activities, or “live,” a series of curious contributions on science and nature.
MUSE recommends. Selected documentaries for you: suggestions, insights into today’s world, and reviews of outstanding documentaries, already made and available on platforms that authorize their dissemination (Youtube, Rai Play and Rai Educational). A selection of quality nature videos and films, in various languages, including Women and the Scientific World in Italy 1959 by Cesare Zavattini.

An afternoon to program: every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 3 p.m., Gianluca Lopez, a maker from MUSE FabLab, the museum`s digital workshop, will be live on Facebook to teach through tutorials how to make a mini-videogame, animate a graphic and even draw in 3D. The common thread of content is STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) subjects.
MUSE reports: a selection of technology-themed videos and lots of tips for challenging yourself, keeping your creativity busy and making small everyday objects.

Canticle: On Saturday, March 21, on the occasion of World Poetry Day and International Forest Day, MUSE and Bosco dei Poeti present the radio show Canticle. The podcast, airing at two times (10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.), is inspired by one of the many museum events suspended as a result of measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. An all-listening format, the voices of the poets and poetesses will be alternated with news about anti-poaching operations by the Carabinieri and ornithological trivia by MUSE facilitators.
Seven Minutes. Stories on the Timeline: another radio project, kicking off next week, conceived by the staff of the Ledro Pile Dwelling Museum. Ten radio stories, lasting 7 minutes each, trace the history of epidemics, the most successful inventions, the bravest journeys and many other events that have marked the timeline of Humanity.
