Thanks to an agreement between the Mont’e Prama Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, the seventh Giant returns to the “Giovanni Marongiu” Civic Museum in Cabras.
“After the European tour to Berlin, St. Petersburg, Thessaloniki and Naples, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Region of Sardinia, prior to the creation of the Mont’e Prama Foundation, a seventh Giant returns home, to be exhibited together with its ”brothers," Anthony Muroni, president of the Mont’e Prama Foundation, announced on social media.
The agreement involves the transfer of the statue from Naples directly to the museum in Cabras, where it will be displayed in the room that houses the six Giants already restored.
"By the end of September, therefore, an event will materialize that anticipates by a few months, the time of the completion of work in the new wing of the museum and the transfer of the other statues from Cagliari, the reunification of the sculptural complex of Mont’e Prama in its natural home: the Sinis,“ Muroni added. ”This is an achievement in which the municipal administration and the people of Cabras have invested a great deal and which now the Foundation, pursuing its statutory purposes, brings home, in collaboration with the MiC and the Region of Sardinia."
