Mirakids, the new section of the Miramare Museum dedicated entirely to children and young people

The Miramare Museum has opened an entire section on its website completely dedicated to children and young people: Mirakids.

In the course of the health emergency, the Miramare Museum has thought of many activities designed especially for young children and has opened on its official website a new section entirely dedicated to children and young people, Mirakids.

Stories, insights, games, curiosities, divided by age group and into four sections, depending on the type of activity proposed: Draw, Explore, Play and Listen.

“It has always been close to my heart to dedicate time and space to children and families through proposals focused on nature themes that would bring together a research path in the Park and one inside the Castle’s collection,” said director Andreina Contessa. “We thought of converting many initiatives to the virtual, taking the opportunity to expand the range of offerings and collaborations that are already active and established.”

The design of the new section grew out of the Draw Miramare! initiative, which invited children to send in their drawings of the Castle and Park. Numerous people participated, and their drawings are small works of art that are constantly published on the website and social channels of the museum headquarters.

Mirakids, which is constantly being updated with the introduction of new content, also offers The Treasures: in-depth insights into the history and collection that aim to make the various objects understood in language accessible to children. Many games, audiostories, playful and interactive activities are also offered, such as Memory, through which children can learn while having fun, discovering the history of Miramare, its protagonists and the works in the collection.

Thanks to Verona83’s team of educational operators, the first audiostories have been published in the Listen section: short stories through which children can discover, in simple and captivating language, as many curiosities related to the history of the Castle and its collection.

Finally, in collaboration with WWF Marine Protected Area, a new interactive game has been created: children and adults will be accompanied to discover the botanical and faunal riches of the Miramare Park and Marine Reserve. The Miraquiz will take participants on a special tour of the Park, among the monumental trees, clear waters, bushes and meadows in search of the traces of the small animals and the many plants that Maximilian had brought in from different places to embellish his beloved garden.
