The excavations of Regio V, carried out thanks to the Great Pompeii Project, have brought to light extraordinary environments of ancient Pompeii: streets, buildings with balconies, the House of the Garden, whose flora has been entirely reconstructed by paleobotanists, and the House of Orion, with its two extraordinary Egyptian-inspired mosaics. As visible from the images taken from above with the drone, Regio V overlooks the Via di Nola, one of Pompeii’s major thoroughfares, an area rich in commercial activity and opulent houses where the middle class lived until the eruption of 79 AD.
