Marino Marini Museum becomes theater stage to tell the story of the great sculptor

The Marino Marini Museum in Florence opens its doors to theater to tell a new story about the great sculptor and his works.

The Marino Marini Museum in Florence becomes a stage and opens its doors to the theater to narrate Marino Marini and his works in an unprecedented way, in a continuous dialogue between art, artists and stage performance. Sandro Lombardi, Silvia Guidi and Sergio Bustric, three great protagonists of Italian theater, will be at the center of three appointments, during which they will lead the public to discover the museum and the works of the great sculptor.

The initiative, curated by theater critic Roberto Incerti and promoted through the museum’s social channels, aims to make Marino Marini’s masterpieces known in a new way, telling them through the art of theater and its strongly evocative language, and to offer a “virtual stage” so that theater can keep alive the dialogue with its audience, which has always been a vehicle of emotions and culture.

It starts with The Word of Forms, already available online: Sandro Lombardi, founder of the Lombardi-Tiezzi Company and five times Ubu Award as best actor, reads Marino Marini: an artistic interpretation of great pathos in which all the creative force of the artist capable of creating and giving life to matter emerges. This will be followed by Il senso delle forme and Il gioco delle forme, led by Silvia Guidi and Sergio Bustric, respectively.

“Theater is a very powerful social vector,” said Patrizia Asproni, President of the Marino Marini Museum, “able to spread art, beauty, culture through gestures, voice, emotions. It is unthinkable to talk about revitalizing the country without focusing on the cultural fabric of which theater and live performance are an integral as well as necessary part to rekindle national identity. For the Marini Museum to welcome theater within its spaces as an integral part of the visitor experience represents a choice in line with its strong interdisciplinary connotation. I would therefore like to thank my friends Sandro Lombardi, Silvia Guidi and Sergio Bustric who, through masterful stories and scenic words, interpret Marino Marini’s artistic thought for our audience, giving new voice to his extraordinary creations.”
