Mahmood, the popular singer who won the 2019 edition of the Sanremo Festival, has chosen Turin’s Egyptian Museum as the setting for part of his new video. Dorado (this is the title of the single, made together with Sfera Ebbasta and Feid) will therefore have a video clip that sees the Italian-Egyptian singer dancing shirtless among the statues of the Gallery of the Kings: for the artist (his real name is Alessandro Mahmoud) it is a sort of homage to his origins.
Enthusiastic is the director of the Egyptian Museum, Christian Greco. “I am really pleased,” he said, “that a place dedicated to a millenary culture, such as the Egyptian Museum, can be a source of inspiration for contemporary forms of expression, becoming a space capable of stimulating the creativity of young artists.”
“The juxtaposition between our collection and Mahmood’s music,” the director concluded, “fully expresses the sense of universality that characterizes the various languages of culture, carriers of messages capable of reaching and enriching anyone.”
