Comics in Museums, the project conceived and implemented by MiBACT in collaboration with the publishing house Coconino Press - Fandango and the authors of the stories, is participating in the #ioleggoacasa campaign. Each week a selection of 51 albums dedicated to Italy’s museums and archaeological parks, illustrated by leading Italian cartoonists, will be available free online.
The main objective of Fumetti nei Musei is to bring children closer to museum heritage through different languages more akin to their sensibilities.
Every Sunday, six of the fifty-one albums will be published, then replicated individually from Monday to Saturday to give museums the opportunity to get active with schools, students and the cartoonists themselves, in order to continue the educational paths.
In addition, every day, the official @fumettineimusei profiles, supported by the institutional channels @mibact, @museaniitaliani and the entire network in which individual museums participate, will amplify the initiative on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms.
The first six comics set will cover the Scaliger Castle in Sirmione with the story and drawings by ALTAN; the Colosseum with the story and drawings by Roberto Grossi; the National Archaeological Museum “Domenico Ridola” of Matera with drawings and story by Vitt Moretta; the Pinacoteca di Brera with drawings and story by Paolo Bacilieri; the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum with drawings and story by Roberta Scomparsa; and the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto with drawings and story by Squaz.
