Great artists narrate their homes, from Isgrò to Cattelan. The Trussardi Foundation's online project

It's called 'Chamber Journeys' the online project of Milan's Trussardi Foundation: artists narrate their homes.

Viaggi da camera is the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi ’s online project that, starting last March 27, invites artists to narrate their domestic and private space through images, videos and texts that are posted daily on the official website and on the Foundation’s social profiles. The project is inspired by Xavier De Maistre ’s famous 18th-century novel Viaggio intorno alla mia camera (written during an obligatory 42-day stay in a room in Turin). Over the years, many artists have taught us to look at the spaces around us from new points of view: from Giorgio Morandi, locked in his studio in the middle of World War II, to Marisa Merz, who in her home in Turin urged us to look at the world with our eyes closed, which for her were “extraordinarily open,” artists have imagined domestic space as a territory open to infinite discoveries.

Now the project is open to everyone. To participate, everyone can post their own “chamber journey” on social media by adding the hashtag #viaggidacamera and tagging the name of the Foundation, which will share these posts on Instagram and Facebook.

In these times of forced closure in the home, Room Journeys encourages people to embark on new journeys within the perimeter of their own room, to try to discover new maps of the imagination and new points of escape.

Among the many invited artists, the following have already joined the project (in alphabetical order): Valerio Ambiveri, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Micol Assael, Atelier dell’Errore, Rosa Barba, Marco Belfiore, Carlo Benvenuto, Simone Berti, Irma Blank, Monica Bonvicini, Paolo Bottarelli, Maurizio Cattelan, Letizia Cariello, Matilde Cerruti Quara, Andrea Contin, Patrizio Di Massimo, Linda Fregni Nagler, Giuseppe Gabellone, Alberto Garutti, Genuardi/Ruta, Massimo Grimaldi, Emilio Isgrò, Luisa Lambri, Marcello Maloberti, Domenico Antonio Mancini, MASBEDO, Marzia Migliora, Adrian Paci, Giuseppe Penone, Diego Perrone, Gabriele Picco, Paola Pivi, Farid Rahimi, Antonio Rovaldi, Sven Sachsalber, Carolina Sandretto, Marinella Senatore, Elisa Sighicelli, Federico Tosi, Patrick Tuttofuoco, Grazia Varisco, Nico Vascellari, Francesco Vezzoli, Nanda Vigo, Luca Vitone.
