Geronimo Stilton narrates the Brescia Civic Museums with the Foundation's new app-game

Starting Dec. 15, Fondazione Brescia Musei in collaboration with Atlantyca Entertainment and with the support of Fondazione Cariplo presents an innovative app-game featuring the mouse journalist Geronimo Stilton.

Geronimo Stilton, Italy’s most famous mouse journalist, will be the one to introduce the public to the history, culture and art of the Brescia Civic Museums. From December 15, as a world exclusive, the Brescia Musei Foundation in collaboration with Atlantyca Entertainment and with the support of Fondazione Cariplo is presenting an innovative app-game, Brescia Musei Adventures, dedicated to all visitors to the Brescia Civic Museums and in particular to children aged six and up that features Geronimo Stilton himself as the protagonist. The Santa Giulia Museum, the Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery, the Brescia Roman Archaeological Park and the “Luigi Marzoli” Museum will be involved through three routes designed by the Foundation’s Educational Services and Atlantyca Entertainment. For the first time, Geronimo Stilton enters a museum venue with an innovative project that aims to involve especially younger audiences.

To take part in the mouse journalist’s adventures in the Brescia Civic Museums requires only a device, either a smartphone or a tablet; the app will use augmented reality to transform some museum pieces, including amulets, amphorae, paintings and armor, into 3-D images that can be observed and enlarged to see even the smallest details.

“We have always been convinced that culture, and museums, are not the exclusive prerogative of adults, but rather are a magnificent tool in the hands of children who know how to surprise us with their creativity and their ability to grasp unexpected aspects. This is why the collaboration with such a beloved character as Geronimo Stilton is valuable and forward-looking,” said Brescia Mayor Emilio Del Bono.

The app-game aims to communicate the contents of museum collections in a fun and engaging way.

"With the launch of our first app-game," said Francesca Bazoli, president of the Brescia Musei Foundation, “we continue on the path of digital innovation, which we have long since started with integrated educational projects, reaffirming our educational commitment to the new generations of digital natives. We have chosen Geronimo Stilton as the ambassador of our heritage because of the extraordinary influence he has on young children and the ease with which everyone can identify with the character.”
